Cllr David Moore - Newark and Sherwood District Council (Beacon) and Town Council (Beacon)
As a Town and District Councillor, and local business and shop owner, prosperity in Newark town centre is important to me. Whenever, and wherever possible, I do my upmost to promote Newark and Sherwood in all ways that I can.
The health and well being of our residents must be a driving force in our work as Councillors. Both the financial and physical wellbeing of all must be paramount in all that we do.
In working with me, people will discover an empathetic listener, someone who will fight in their corner whenever possible and someone who believes that everyone has a voice in our community.
TWO YEAR’S ON …
Being Vice-Chair of the District Planning Committee has been a real learning experience for me, teaching me more and more about our planning laws and protocols, and understanding material planning considerations when debating a planning application at committee.
After a first year, where I spent time getting to grips with the minutiae of planning law and building good relations with the planning officers, year two found me getting a fuller understanding of the expectations, and limitations, of being a local councillor.
Casework for my ward residents has had its own challenges, but again, it is incredibly rewarding for me, and hopefully for the lives that are changed for the better. I'm looking forward to the next two years with sleeves rolled up and determination!
David Moore, working for a thriving, productive, safe and caring Newark!
